Subject 1
Physical Aspects
Sex: Male
Age: looks approximately between 10-12 years old
Height: No idea, because he was sitting down.
Race: Malay
Occupation: Student, based on appearance, age.
Appearance: Red/Grey t-shirt. Maroon Bermudas. Blue slipper. Spotting a typical schoolboy hair cut.
Details
Scene: On the train, from Queenstown to Clementi
Time: 9:15 – 9:35
Actions
Subject boarded the train at Queenstown Station, sat at the middle of the carriage, where there is a bar separating the window in the carriage. Why is he not in school, since I have categorized him as a student, that I have no idea why. I was sitting on the floor, facing him; he was at my 11 o’clock. Kept on looking at me ever since he boarded the train. No much actions made while traveling from Queenstown to Buona Vista, but the moment the trains reaches Dover, he shakes his head a couple of times, maybe 4-5 times, and folds his arms for a spilt second following that. Keeps on tightening the plastic bag that is in his hands, when it is already tied up tightly, while on the way from Dover to Clementi. While the train is approaching Clementi, he keeps on turning around looking out of the window. Still looking out of the window when the train stops at the platform, only turning around he sees me getting ready to alight, and he still continues to look at me, when I am trying to get rid of the numbness of my leg, as the train starts to pull away from the platform.
Assumptions
Might be thinking to himself, ‘why does the guy in black in the corner keeps on staring at me?’ and maybe he recalls a certain bad experience at Dover station that is why he keeps on staring out of the window while at the Dover platform, as I can see nothing out of the norm on the station platform. He might also want to know what I maybe up to, standing by the chair the moment I got off the train, and not moving off like what other commuters would normally do.
Subject 2
Physical Aspect
Sex: Male
Age: looks 17-19
Height: At least 1.70m
Race: Chinese
Occupation: Student in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, no idea what course though.
Appearance: Liverpool jersey, black sports shorts, black Adidas slip on slippers, neck length dyed, brown coloured hair
Details
Scene: Ngee Ann Polytechnic Bus stop
Time: 18:40 – 18:48
Actions
Subject was at the bus stop, looking at the traffic, as they were coming towards him, and he was hugging his file, never once did he loosen his grip while I was looking at him. After a little while, he turns slightly to his right and looks towards the street soccer court, for about 20 odd seconds before turning back again.
Bus 61 arrives, he looks, but does not move, and instead he turns around and looks at the street soccer court again for a split second and turns back again. Bus 184 arrives shortly, and yet again, he doesn’t moves, and yet again, he turns and looks at the court again! He yawned, and bus 52 arrived, the bus that I was taking. Boarded the bus, looked out of the window for subject, but he’s nowhere to be seen. But bus 74 was just behind.
Assumptions
He might be looking at the street soccer court as I noticed that there were girls there, so I just assumed that he was looking at them, since they were many things to look at and I also make the assumption that he took bus 74, as he was no where to be seen. The yawn could mean that he had a long day in school, or he did not have enough sleep.

The scenario IF subject A meets subject B or vice versa. The following could happen to any soccer fans out there also.
Background information – Majority of the Malays who live in Singapore supports Liverpool Football Club, while on the other hand, quite a number of Chinese who live in Singapore, supports Manchester United Football Club. It was no different for Arif and Tim.
Arif and Tim are childhood friends, despite the relatively large age gap of 6 years. Neighbours for the past 12 years, their families are very close, even though of the different religion that both families believed in. Both Arif and Tim were vivid fans of soccer, this however was darkened by the fact that they supported different clubs, and it was the rivalry for both clubs. For these years, nothing has happened, until one day…
It was just days after Manchester United won their 10th Premier League Title, and it made it 17 league titles, as the Premier League was previously known as the First Division, before the name was changed to Premier League, closing down Liverpool’s record of 18 titles won.
‘Glory Glory Man Utd, Glory Glory Man Utd, Glory Glory Man Utd as the Reds go marching in’, Tim was exclaiming jubilantly, as he was walking down the corridor towards the lift, heading downstairs for a bite.
Arif was walking pass his own window when he heard the final words of ‘… as the Reds go marching in..’, and for a moment he thought Tim had switched his allegiance to Liverpool, but he didn’t give it much though about it.
Tim saw Arif and asked him to join him downstairs. He agreed, since Arif had nothing much to do at home.
Downstairs at the coffee shop, they were eating, when Arif suddenly brought up on what he heard earlier, and asked Tim if he has switched allegiance. But he wasn’t the case. Instead Tim replied his child hood friend with a ‘very graceful answer’, ‘Even if you give me a million dollars, I will not even consider supporting Liverpool. Such a bullshit club, only people like YOU will support them.’
Arif chose to ignore that statement and tried to continue with the conversation, asking Tim about Man Utd’s history, so in a way, the conversation continued until when they reached the part where how many Champions League Cups, a tournament in Europe where the best teams compete with each other, over the whole continent, for most prestige prize that a football club can win in Europe. This was when the whole situation changed.
The following could be a possible conversation between the two friends.
Tim: One. One European. Yup
Arif: What? One only??!!??! Do you know how many Liverpool have? 5. That is F-I-V-E. take that sucker!!
That statement was enough to piss Tim off, he replied, ‘Are you just plain jealous that Man Utd has just won the Premier League, while your beloved Liverpool has not won it ever since the league was renamed. Arif, whatever, seriously whatever. I have had enough of you and your Liverpool, you and their history, you and their ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone (the theme song for Liverpool Football Club)!! Take this!!’ splashing his cup of coke onto his, what was his ‘childhood friend’.
‘So now you are being a Racist towards me?!?!? You Racist Bastard!!’, Arif retaliated, making that statement loud enough for the whole coffee shop to hear.
Tim was stunned. Not expecting that kind of statement. Before he knew it, Arif was running off, not before delivering a punch to his kidney and groin. Grimacing in pain, he whispered to himself, full of revenge, ’ That’s it! That fellow is so dead!’

Soccer is indeed a beautiful game that unfortunately sometimes results in not so beautiful behaviour.
